Assistant Manager – Circle K

Store 4701836: 420 N Independence Blvd, Romeoville, Illinois 60446. Flexible shift availability. Full‑time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Function as the manager in charge when the Site Manager is unavailable.
• Responsible for ordering and stocking vending items.
• Effectively provide training to new hires.
• Train team on opening/closing checklists and proper loading techniques.
• Teach Fast Pass sales techniques to the team.
• Respond professionally to voicemails and emails in a timely manner.
• Create an effective schedule.
• Maintain complete knowledge of the car wash vacuum system operation.
• Clean the vacuum system (pressure washing).
• Support the Site Manager during monthly team meetings.
• Assist with on‑site Supervisor Courses.
• Supervise teammates completing PM and assess if further training is needed.
• Complete the GSR Daily Breakdown.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma plus 6 months to 1 year of retail and management work experience preferred.
• Leadership and communication skills, including active listening.
• Experience with team building.
• Excellent sales and customer service skills.
• Ability to anticipate customer needs.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong work ethics and a professional attitude.

Experience

Three+ years of retail experience, with at least one year in a supervisory/management role. Candidates with supervisory experience from a Big Box environment, auto industry, car wash, or lube store are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand and walk throughout the workday.
• Use of hands; reach with hands and arms.
• Climb or balance; stop, crouch and kneel.
• Must work in damp and humid conditions.
• Must work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
• May lift or move objects up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Working Environment

The position works in a typical outdoor car wash environment. Noise levels are moderate but can be excessively loud. Hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) are required. The incumbent must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and operating procedures without endangering health or safety.

Supervision Received

Team members must be capable of performing all responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Hiring Range

$15.50–$17.50 per hour.
