Job summary

Jersey Mike's in Utah is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the General Manager and guide daily restaurant operations. You’ll lead a high‑performing team, coach staff, and help hire, onboard, and train new employees.

The role emphasizes maintaining food quality, safety, guest satisfaction, and cost controls while fostering a positive, team‑first culture and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in a restaurant, retail, or customer service setting.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Food safety certification may be required and provided in training.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with the General Manager to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Coach, develop, and motivate team members through positive leadership.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new staff.
• Manage shifts while upholding food quality, cleanliness and service standards.
• Monitor labor, productivity, and food quality across shifts.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and controlling costs.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance and company standards.
• Address customer concerns professionally and resolve issues.
• Support scheduling, daily operations, and performance goals.
• Open and close the restaurant as needed and foster a positive culture.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Manager, you'll partner with the General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations while building a positive, high-performing team.

Your responsibilities include:

• Helping lead all day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure an exceptional guest experience

• Coaching, developing, and motivating team members through positive leadership

• Assisting with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees

• Leading shifts while maintaining Jersey Mike's standards for food quality, cleanliness, and customer service

• Monitoring labor, productivity, and food quality throughout each shift

• Assisting with inventory management, ordering, receiving deliveries, and controlling food costs

• Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company operating standards

• Handling customer concerns professionally and creating positive resolutions

• Supporting scheduling, daily operations, and restaurant performance goals

• Opening and closing the restaurant as needed

• Leading by example and fostering a positive, accountable, team-first culture

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience in a restaurant, retail, or customer service environment preferred

• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

• Must meet applicable age requirements for operating certain equipment, including slicer equipment, where required by state or local regulations

• Food safety certification may be required and will be provided through training if applicable
