Job summary

Caribou Coffee Operating Company, Inc. is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to grow into a future leader who thinks strategically about the store and the district.

This role partners with the General Manager to run the store with a focus on customer experience and community impact. The AGM will lead, develop and motivate the team, drive sales, manage operations, and learn the Profit & Loss aspects of the business while embodying Caribou's core values and delivering day-making

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of restaurant/retail experience with strong customer service.
  • Able to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
  • Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the doing of Team Member and Shift Leader with ease, enthusiasm and excellence.
  • Develops understanding of the business to the level of a General Manager over the course of a year.
  • Creates joyful interactions and teaches the team to form real connections that last beyond the immediate interaction.
  • Champions an environment that fosters goal-surpassing speed through effective deployment, in-the-moment problem solving and team motivation.
  • Takes responsibility for hitting sales goals through the connection between speed and service.
  • Leads on problem resolution with calm professionalism, emotional maturity, and a commitment to listening to understand.
  • Develops a broad understanding of the Profit & Loss statement by connecting day-to-day behaviors to end results.
  • Organizes, executes, and improves administrative tasks and connects daily/weekly/monthly tasks to overall business success.
  • Responsible for all store funds while on shift by enforcing cash-handling policies.
  • Places, receives, and verifies orders; conducts inventory; controls waste and dates and rotates inventory as needed.
  • Thinks holistically about the store's success, focusing on the current and next shifts and beyond.
  • Seeks to understand root causes of problems to create sustainable change.
