Job Description
About The Role: The Assistant Manager is a full-time, hourly-based role based on the needs of the business. The Assistant Manager is a key holder and serves as the manager on duty (MOD) in the absence of the Store Manager or when needed. The role assists in managing the operations of an automotive retail service and repair store to meet service standards and Monro’s performance and profitability goals. The Assistant Manager ensures teammates deliver exceptional 5-Star service through clear communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions, and by meeting guest expectations for time and quality.
Responsibilities
- Schedule guest appointments to optimize technician workload and efficiently complete vehicle services/repairs.
- Help achieve sales goals by informing and recommending tire and service products and promotions.
- Attend to guest needs in sales, service, complaints, and adjustments.
- Build guest relationships to maximize customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
- Assist technicians in conveying repair and service needs to guests.
- Maintain store condition and cleanliness to Monro standards, ensuring a guest-ready environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking.
- Provide direction and oversight to technicians and assist with services/repairs as needed.
- Organize the store’s workflow to ensure efficient use of technician skills and timely completion of services per Monro standards.
- Understand and adhere to company policies, governmental standards including environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards; consistently follow safety training and procedures.
- Perform Store Manager functions as business needs dictate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- ASE certification and State Inspection License (where applicable) preferred.
- Ability to influence and motivate a team to achieve goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service abilities.
- Effective communication skills with teammates and guests.
- Complete all Monro required training within the provided guidelines and timing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory MVR; ability to operate customer vehicles for test drives.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role operates in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. Requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for long periods, and perform overhead reaching, kneeling, squatting, and bending as needed.
