Production Lead Assistant

Shift Information

1st Shift, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday

2nd Shift, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Monday – Friday

Pay

$20-25/hr (10% shift differential for 2nd shift)

Responsibilities

Directs subordinate personnel in the task of inspection, assembly, or packaging of parts when the Lead is unavailable.

Job Duties
  • Committed to ensuring the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise, as well as areas of business in order to remain at the forefront of meeting company objectives, thus proactively satisfying customers.
  • This position mandates that all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications be completed and maintained within the specific position/department.
  • Is aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.
  • This position requires an employee to work their regularly scheduled shift; ability to work overtime & weekends.
  • Must be aware of and comply with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
  • Supports the Lead in ensuring that all subordinates’ work is performed in accordance with specific Work Instructions, Production Work Orders, and/or additional instructional manuals/reference documents.
  • Utilizes the computer to access/print supporting documentation and for production inquiries when required.
  • Coordinates that non-conforming components are removed from department as needed.
  • Helps enforce the use of personal protective equipment/safety procedures regarding co-workers’ daily operation.
  • Assists in the training and educating of coworkers.
  • Uses department email to communicate with other departments in accordance with department needs.
  • Develop and monitors departmental metrics to ensure production and production efficiency.
  • Responsible for addressing any quality issues that are generated in the AOR. Coordinates corrective action.
  • Perform production duties as needed.
  • Communicates production concerns, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Supports shift handoff activities by communicating production status, priorities, and unresolved issues to incoming personnel.
  • Promotes a positive team environment through effective communication, leadership by example, and employee engagement.

Education and Skill Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • High school diploma or General education degree (GED).
  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems to access production data, reports, work instructions, and other supporting documentation.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Position requires individual to be capable of traveling & working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation. The noise level is usually moderate.
