Base pay range

$55,000.00/hr - $58,000.00/hr

About the role

Our Assistant Kitchen Managers are instrumental in our day-to-day Back of House operations. As an Assistant Kitchen Manager with PJ’s, you’ll support the Kitchen Manager in planning, organizing, and training to achieve culinary success. You’ll oversee food production, quality, costs, employee hiring and retention, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Responsibilities
  1. Achieve sales, food quality, presentation, safety, sanitation, and cleanliness goals through employee training and a positive work environment.
  2. Ensure all food and products are prepared and served according to recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
  3. Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations applicable to the restaurant, employees, and guests.
  4. Provide feedback and coaching to employees, documenting performance as needed.
  5. Support scheduling to meet business needs while managing labor costs.
  6. Participate in employment decisions for kitchen staff.
  7. Maintain equipment in excellent condition through inspections and preventative maintenance.
  8. Ensure proper receipt and storage of supplies according to policies.
Qualifications
  1. At least 2 years of kitchen operations experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
  2. Some supervisory experience preferred.
  3. ServSafe Certification required.
  4. Strong decision-making and communication skills.
  5. Proactive, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  7. Basic computer skills, including POS and scheduling systems.
