Job summary

Celebree School of Fishtown is seeking an Assistant Teacher to plan and direct operations of an assigned classroom, ensuring a developmentally appropriate learning environment aligned with Celebree mission, vision and values. You will provide support and direction to the classroom assistant and aide.

The role emphasizes creating a warm, engaging classroom, delivering age-appropriate lessons, communicating with families, and upholding PA state regulations while partnering with the teaching team.

Qualifications

• Childcare: 2-3 years (Required)
• Child Development Associate (Preferred)
• Associate's degree in human services field or 30 CEUs in early childhood development, special education, elementary education or human services (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree in human services field or early childhood education (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned classroom to ensure compliance with PA state regulations, brand standards, policies and procedures
• Develop and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans in a safe, nurturing environment following the Celebree School curriculum; clearly delegate activities to staff and maintain open communication
• Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment for children, families, and visitors; maintain engaging displays and an educational parent board
• Communicate with caregivers by greeting them, addressing concerns promptly, offering feedback, providing daily updates on development and classroom activities
• Counsels children using Conscious Discipline framework and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
• Provide support and direction to Aides/Floaters to ensure classroom functions smoothly

Physical Demands
