Responsibilities

• Ensure players, equipment, and facilities are well‑prepared and organized.
• Support the Head Coach in all assigned coaching duties and provide direction to student athletes to achieve high levels of skill, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
• Comply with school, school board, and MSHSAA policies and regulations.
• Assume responsibility for the care and maintenance of materials, equipment, and facilities.
• Assist the head coach in developing and maintaining a year‑round strength and conditioning program.
• Contribute to the overall development of all levels of the sport within the community.
• Help develop and organize practice programs.
• Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as may be assigned by the principal or superintendent.
• Demonstrate professional growth by attending camps, clinics, and other relevant training.
• Promote positive interaction with student athletes, the school, and the community.
• Show enthusiasm for coaching and ongoing learning.
• Express interest in student athletes and the broader athletic program.
• Encourage self‑direction and self‑motivation among students.
• Maintain an effective system for monitoring student progress and inform appropriate parties.
• Develop short and long‑term goals and collaborate with others to accomplish them.
