Job summary

Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri seeks an Assistant Track Coach for the 2025-26 school year to support the head coach in all aspects of the program. This is a non-teaching, support role with rigorous pre-coaching requirements.

• Sports First Aid/CPR/AED training before second year of coaching and renewed every two years.

• Board approval before coaching.
• Concussion in Sports training and yearly review.
• MSHSAA sport-specific online rules review and test each season.
• Mental Health and Suicide Prevention training before second year and renewed every two years.
• Heat Illness Prevention/Recognition training before second year and renewed every two years.
• MSHSAA eligibility through provisional status if requirements are not met.

• Successful completion of a Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention training prior to second year of coaching and renewed every two years.
• Successful completion of a course in Heat Illness Prevention/Recognition prior to the second year of coaching, which must be renewed every two years.
• Provisional status is available to assistants that do not meet these minimum requirements through MSHSAA regulations. Student teachers can also serve as assistants by meeting other MSHSAA requirements.
