Job summary

Wayzata High School is seeking an enthusiastic assistant track and field coach to support throwing events this season. You will work with the head coach and other assistants to plan practices, supervise athletes, and ensure safety during workouts and competitions, with a focus on discus and shot put technique.

Ideal candidates will be available daily during the season from March 15 to June 12, 2027, bring knowledge of fitness and recovery tools, motivate athletes, and contribute ideas to

Qualifications

• Be present every day for duration of practice.
• Knowledge of how to build fitness.
• Ability to motivate athletes.
• Knowledge of running recovery tools, nutrition.
• Encourage and support longer meet days.
• Ensure health and safety of all athletes is monitored.
• Assist in bringing ideas to the team that connect athletes and build community.
• Experience in throwing discus and shot put.

Assistant High School Track and Field Throwing Coach

The Wayzata High School Track and Field team is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable assistant coach to join our team. Ideally the candidate would have coaching and/or throwing experience. This position will work in tandem with the head coach and additional assistant coaches to motivate athletes, create training plans, attend daily practices, and support at competitions.

Selection Procedure: Position is open only to WEA employees through 10/30/26. If no internal candidates are selected, external candidates will be considered. Position will remain open until filled.

Stipend range is worth $100 - $7,640for entire season. This position is not benefit eligible.
