Job summary

Good Shepherd Services, Ltd is seeking an Assistant Group Leader to support the after-school enrichment and recreational program. This role assists the group leader with activities, supervises participants, and helps with planning and safety.

Ideal candidates are 18+, reliable, with excellent verbal and written communication, and able to work in a dynamic youth-focused team during the listed hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and the ability to work with other youth.
• Must be available during the program hours listed above.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.

Responsibilities

• Assist the group leader with engaging activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and crafts, and special events.
• Collect attendance folder and other data as necessary.
• Supervise participants throughout the afterschool program.
• Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up.
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program and upholding the afterschool model.
• Support activity instructor(s) with lessons.
• Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Follow all GSS, DYCD and SACC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Up to 20 hours/Week; Non-Exempt

Salary

$17.00 / hour
