Good Shepherd Services in New York, NY seeks an Assistant Group Leader to support staff in delivering after-school enrichment and recreational activities.
You will assist with sports, arts and crafts, and special events, supervise participants, and help with attendance data. The role is up to 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm, school year. Salary is $17.00 per hour, non-exempt.

The Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for the after-school enrichment and recreational program.
Reports To: Program Director, PS 202
Hours: Up to 20 hours/Week; Non-Exempt
Schedule: School Year / September - June / Monday - Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm
Salary: $17.00 / hour
Major Duties:
Assist the group leader with engaging activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and crafts, and special events.
Collect attendance folder and other data as necessary.
Supervise participants throughout the afterschool program.
Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up.
Assist with monitoring and maintaining program rules and upholding the afterschool model.
Support activity instructor(s) with lessons.
Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Follow all GSS and SACC regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits and ability to work with other youth.
Must be available during the program hours listed above.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
