Job summary

Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support daily maintenance, agronomic practices, and project execution across multiple courses. You will supervise staff, oversee irrigation, chemical and fertilizer applications, and help maintain high standards of presentation and safety.

This leadership role emphasizes collaboration with the Director of Agronomy and other superintendents, with opportunities for growth within a prime private club environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a New Jersey Pesticide Applicator License.
• Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency is a significant plus.
• Experience in Golf Course Maintenance or Turf Management.
• Working knowledge of turfgrass practices, irrigation systems, and chemical and fertilizer applications.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-course operation.
• Desire for professional growth within the golf course management field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily course maintenance and operations for Forest, River, and Meadow courses.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, monitoring, and scheduling.
• Support water conservation and environmentally responsible turf management practices.
• Supervise, train, and direct grounds crew members in daily tasks and best practices.
• Assist with staff scheduling, performance oversight, and on-the-job training.
• Promote a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
• Assist with agronomic projects, renovations, and capital improvements.
