Lewis County High School seeks an Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach to support the program with advanced wrestling instruction, team organization, and adherence to WVSSAC rules.

The role requires prior wrestling coaching experience and WV Teaching Certificate or Substitute Permit; availability November 10, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year, with duties including coordinating practice sessions, assisting the head coach, and promoting youth wrestling within the district.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of wrestling fundamentals, team organization, rules, and WVSSAC policies.
Previous experience as a wrestling coach; preferred at the high school level.

Responsibilities

Teach advanced wrestling skills, team organization, and fundamentals.
Design and follow organized daily practice sessions.
Coordinate with the LCHS Wrestling program guidelines and philosophy.
Assist head coach in coordinating Lewis County Schools Wrestling programs.
Submit WVSSAC eligibility paperwork to the Athletic Director.
Assist in setup for athletic contests.
Maintain equipment inventories and recognize letter winners.
Coordinate transportation requests for contests.
Promote growth and development with athletes and youth programs.
Establish an off-season conditioning and skills-building program.
