Job summary

North Polk High School in Alleman is seeking an Assistant Girls Golf coach/sponsor to lead and supervise student-athletes, coordinate practices, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork within the high school activities program.

Candidates must have an Iowa coaching endorsement or authorization (or sponsor role requirements), demonstrate the ability to manage equipment, schedule practices, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Compensation is $3,500 annually.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa coaching endorsement or authorization (required for all athletic coaching, not required for sponsor roles)
• Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed
• Exhibit high moral values and be able to serve as a favorable example to young people

Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of new ideas and techniques in the field assigned.
• Be knowledgeable of rules and regulations as well as changes that occur.
• Inventory, selection, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Coach individual participants in the skill areas necessary for excellent achievement in the activity involved, as assigned.
• Carry out duties as assigned in the activity involved as it would pertain to clerical work, strategy meetings, equipment issue and return, facility preparations and supervision.
• Support the program by abiding by policies and rules which are set forth to help maintain growth of the total activities program at all levels.

The North Polk Community School District is a progressive educational community located in the Des Moines metro area just north of Ankeny serving the communities of Alleman, Elkhart, Polk City, and Sheldahl. The District proudly serves over 2200 learners from preschool through 12th grade in five buildings (West Elementary, PK thru 2nd; Big Creek Elementary, 3-5th; Central Elementary, PK thru 5th; Middle School, 6th-8th; and High School, 9th-12th).
