Duchesne High School, a St. Louis Archdiocesan coeducational college preparatory high school serving grades 9–12, is seeking an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach to support the girls basketball program.

You will work with the Head Coach to develop athletes athletically, academically, spiritually, and socially, while upholding the school's mission. The role focuses on planning practices, teaching fundamentals, and maintaining a culture of respect, discipline, and teamwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Girls Basketball Coach with planning, organization, and supervision of the girls basketball program.
• Support the development and implementation of practice plans, skill development activities, and game preparation.
• Provide instruction in basketball fundamentals, team strategy, conditioning, and sportsmanship.
• Assist with supervising student-athletes during practices, games, travel and other program activities.
• Encourage academic success, accountability, leadership, and personal growth among student-athletes.
• Help monitor student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.
• Assist with organizing equipment, uniforms, and program resources.
• Support game-day operations, scouting, and other administrative duties as assigned.
• Promote a positive team culture emphasizing respect, teamwork, discipline, and character development.
• Serve as a positive role model and representative of Duchesne High School.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, coaches, faculty, and administration.
• Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan, school, conference, and MSHSAA policies.

Job Summary

Duchesne High School, a St. Louis Archdiocesan coeducational college preparatory high school serving grades 9–12, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Girls Basketball Coach to support the school's girls basketball program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to develop student-athletes athletically, academically, spiritually, and socially while helping to build a competitive and successful program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to student development, and support for the mission and values of Duchesne High School and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basketball fundamentals, player development, conditioning, and game strategy.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop student-athletes in a positive and supportive environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, faculty, staff, parents, and administration.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and online communication tools preferred.
• Ability to meet all Archdiocesan and school employment requirements, including background checks and Safe Environment compliance.
