Job summary

Applegreen is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support daily operations, manage staff, and ensure a positive customer experience at our travel plazas across the United States.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for developing others, and at least 2 years of experience in restaurant management. Our organization values teamwork and encourages personal growth in a flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non-management associates, assign work, focus on store level operation performance, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Competently perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Exhibit strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of all applicable brand standards and all procedures and protocols to maximize brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Ensure the restaurant always looks clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards.
• Ensure cash management is accurate and processed daily, and reports are delivered as per company directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
• Ensure inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks.

What You’ll Do

The Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager to ensure that day‑to‑day business operations run smoothly. This position provides an opportunity for entry‑level managers to learn important management skills and practice judgment and discretion skills.
