Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help oversee daily operations across our travel plaza locations. The role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and manage store performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead a team, ensure excellent guest service, uphold brand standards, and collaborate with restaurant partners to drive outcomes. Flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management skills with ability to motivate a team.

• Strong verbal and written communication; business acumen.
• 2+ years in quick service restaurant or similar management.
• Flexible/open schedule.
• Basic food safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management staff, assign work, coach supervisors, and develop shifts.
• Be able to perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate staff and maintain high morale.
• Maintain brand standards and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Ensure cash handling is accurate and reports are delivered per directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to build positive, long-term relationships.
• Monitor inventory and perform spot counts to ensure data accuracy.

What You’ll Do

The Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager to ensure that day-to-day business operations run smoothly. This position provides an opportunity for entry‑level managers to learn important management skills and practice judgment and discretion skills.

Role Priorities And Responsibilities

• Responsible for confidently delivering performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Ensure the day‑to‑day supervision of non‑management associates, assigning specified work, focusing on store level operation performance, coaching, and developing shifts supervisors.
• Must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Strong Leadership and organizational skills
• Addressing issues in a timely fashion
• Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintains an awareness of all applicable brand standards and all procedures and protocols to maximize brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Ensures that the restaurant always looks clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards.
• Ensures cash management is accurate and processed daily, reports are delivered as per company directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues, ensuring positive and long‑term customer relationships.
• Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks.

Skills, Experience And Educational Requirements
