Job summary

Portillo’s is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a high-energy team and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fast‑paced setting. You will oversee shifts, drive sales and profitability, recruit and develop staff, and ensure food safety and quality standards while living Portillo’s values.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to training and hospitality, with flexibility for 50+ hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Restaurant Management or 1 year of AGM/GM in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including recruiting, food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, health standards, and security.
• Great communication skills; read, speak, and understand English to communicate with team members and guests.
• Flexibility to work 50+ hour weeks, rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Current sanitation and BASSET alcohol service training is a plus.

• Manage recruitment efforts to ensure we have team members focused on delivering Portillo’s experience.
• Plan for and make critical business decisions around inventory, budget, and labor.
