Position Title: Assistant General Manager
This is a high-impact, succession-track leadership role at a critical inflection point in a rapidly scaling business. The Assistant General Manager will step into a uniquely positioned environment where both operational excellence and strategic growth are equally necessary and highly visible.
Supporting two large-scale facilities totaling more than 640,000 square feet, this individual will serve as the right hand to the General Manager, taking ownership of day-to-day operations while helping to unlock the next phase of expansion.
The organization has experienced exceptional growth, tripling revenue and doubling EBITDA over the past five to six years, and is now poised for its next leap forward, particularly in the underdeveloped but high-potential 3PL and fulfillment segment. The AGM will play a central role in transforming this capability into a core growth engine, introducing the systems, processes, and operational rigor required to scale efficiently.
This role is not simply about maintaining operations, it is about building. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape infrastructure decisions, drive ERP and warehouse technology integration, and capitalize on unmet demand that the business is currently turning away. With strong backing from leadership and an entrepreneurial culture, the AGM will have the autonomy and support to make meaningful, lasting changes.
Equally important, this position offers a clearly defined path to General Manager. As the current GM transitions into a broader regional leadership role, the AGM will progressively assume full operational and P&L responsibility. For a driven leader, this is a rare chance to step into ownership of a thriving, multi-facility business while helping scale it into a significantly larger regional platform.
The organization operates at the intersection of co-packing, packaging, fulfillment, and distribution, serving a strong base of consumer packaged goods and retail customers—particularly in the confectionery space. With a robust internal design capability and tightly integrated manufacturing network, it offers end-to-end solutions from concept through production and distribution.
The business benefits from deep integration with a broader converting network, allowing it to efficiently source materials and execute complex display and packaging solutions at scale. Its facilities feature significant co-packing and climate‑controlled storage capabilities, enabling it to handle sensitive and high‑volume products.
What distinguishes the company is its momentum and entrepreneurial energy. The organization is in active growth mode; adding customers, expanding facilities, and investing in new technologies. It has recently absorbed major customer volume and continues to build on its strong Midwest distribution footprint. The culture emphasizes ownership, speed, and continuous improvement, creating an environment where strong leaders can make a visible impact.
The General Manager is a hands‑on, growth‑oriented leader who has risen through the organization, bringing deep operational expertise and a track record of building high‑performing teams. Having progressed from plant management into a multi‑site GM role with full P&L responsibility, he understands the business at every level and has played a key role in its recent growth trajectory.
He is currently balancing oversight of two facilities while managing sales, operations, and customer relationships, which highlights both his capability and the need for a strong second‑in‑command. His leadership style is collaborative and pragmatic, valuing complementary skill sets and encouraging knowledge‑sharing across the leadership team.
Importantly, he is looking to elevate into a broader regional role, meaning he is deeply invested in developing the right successor. The incoming AGM will benefit from direct mentorship, clear expectations, and a transparent roadmap to advancement. This creates a rare environment where the leader above is both highly capable and highly motivated to help the next leader succeed.
The Assistant General Manager will oversee day‑to‑day operations across co‑packing, packaging, and fulfillment while driving strategic growth initiatives particularly within 3PL and distribution. The role requires balancing tactical execution with strategic development, ensuring operational excellence while building scalable capabilities for future expansion.
This role operates across large‑scale industrial and distribution facilities, requiring regular presence on the floor and interaction with multiple shifts. The position supports two locations within close geographic proximity and involves collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic, growth‑oriented setting.
The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, performance‑based incentives tied to growth and operational success, and a comprehensive benefits program. The role also offers significant upside through career progression into a General Manager position and increased leadership responsibility within a growing regional platform.
