Job summary

Transdev is seeking an Assistant General Manager – Transit to support the General Manager in directing passenger transit operations. Based in Hyannis, MA, the role oversees day-to-day operations, safety, and financial management of the contract and facility.

The position offers a competitive compensation package with vacation, sick days, holidays, and standard benefits. Travel may be required outside the immediate area, and DOT drug testing applies where required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred.
• 5+7 years of supervisory or management level experience in the passenger transportation industry.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Thorough knowledge of transit operations laws, ordinances and regulations.
• Ability to manage cost control and financial/budget experience handling multiple locations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to navigate labor relations and work with unions.

Assistant General Manager – Transit

NOTE: The following position is for a proposed new/future business within Transdev. Only candidates meeting the work experience requirements will be considered.

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in directing the passenger transit operations. This position is based in Hyannis, MA. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the contract, facility, and safety of personnel and passengers, customer service, and managing the financials.

• Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments

• Ability to manage cost control and financial/budget experience handling multiple locations
• Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
• Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details
• Ability to navigate Labor Relations issues and work effectively with union partners, including labor grievances and negotiations.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
