Job summary

Buc-ee's Brunswick LLC is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead store operations, ensuring a clean, friendly, and in-stock experience for customers. This role covers leadership in the absence of the Store General Manager and requires managing personnel, product quality, and customer service.

You will promote safety, compliance, and teamwork while working a rotating schedule that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Degree or 1-2 years related experience required.
• Retail or management experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Prolonged walking/standing 8–12 hours.
• Rotating day/night schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Regular attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of Store General Manager in their absence.
• Operate POS and transaction devices proficiently.
• Reconcile multiple shift reports.
• Resolve customer and employee issues promptly and professionally.
• Assign and inspect elements on shift duty lists.
• Communicate with the Store General Manager and team.

Overview

The Assistant General Manager provides and promotes a Clean, Friendly, and In-Stock experience for every customer. Assistant General Manager provides passion about leading a store team to uphold Buc‑ee’s standards in the absence of the Store General Manager. The Assistant General Manager should have ability to manage store personnel, ensure product quality, and promote customer service. Assistant General Managers typically work a minimum 48 hour work week consisting primarily of early mornings and afternoons, including most weekends and holidays.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform duties and responsibilities of the Store General Manager in their absence or upon their discretion
• Illustrate competent knowledge of various Point of Sale and transaction devices
• Reconcile multiple shift reports
• Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and in a friendly and professional manner
• Assign and inspect elements listed on shift duty list
• Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws as they apply to retail sales and general employment matters
• Assist the General Manager in recruiting, training, evaluating and managing employees
• Assure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed
• Accurate and rapid use of small keyboards on Point Of Sale and transactional devices
• Ability to identify and resolve immediate customer and store needs without constant supervision
• Effectively and efficiently complete tasks
• Interact professionally with other team members
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
• Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Position Requirements

• Degree from college or university; or 1-2 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in job related field
• Retail or management experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Prolonged walking and/or standing for 8-12 continuous hours
• Ability to work on the store’s busiest days including most weekends and holidays
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance
