Job summary

Navitus Health Solutions seeks an Assistant General Counsel to lead the Archimedes legal team, advising on contracts, regulatory matters, and product compliance. The role collaborates with Lumicera and Navitus teams to ensure ethical business practices and legal alignment with strategic goals.

The candidate will draft and negotiate complex agreements, maintain templates, and oversee licensing and regulatory requirements while guiding new initiatives from a legal perspective.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• License to practice law in at least one US state.
• 6+ years of legal experience.
• Direct experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or health insurance.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
• Support compliance program objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support for Archimedes and manage a team of attorneys and paralegals.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts; maintain templates to meet evolving business needs.
• Oversee licensing and regulatory compliance for Archimedes.
• Advise on legal issues related to contracts, statutes, products, employment, IP, and financial offerings.
• Research statutes and regulations to ensure actions align with organizational values.

Due to growth, we are adding an Assistant General Counsel for Archimedesto our team!

The Assistant General Counsel for Archimedes reports to the Chief Legal Officer and is responsible for managing a team of attorneys and paralegals that provide day-to-day legal support for Archimedes.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis and counsel to Archimedes on legal issues related to contracts, statutes and regulations, products, employment law, intellectual property, financial offerings, financial structuring, real estate transactions, and strategic planning.
• Work collaboratively with Lumicera and Navitus teams to ensure compliance with relevant law, ethical business practices, and Navitus’ mission and values.
• Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Archimedes Legal Team in meeting organizational needs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts on behalf of Archimedes; maintain and proactively update contract templates in compliance with changing business needs and legal requirements; write and administer complex vendor, client, and employment contracts.
• Manage processes related to licensing and regulatory requirements for Archimedes.
• Inform the development of new Archimedes initiatives from a legal perspective and provide guidance on legal issues that help shape the organization’s direction and impact as a whole related to contracts and IT systems.
• Update, review and approve policies and procedures related to Archimedes legal needs.
• Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes as needed.
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local laws and regulations and relevant policies and procedures to ensure actions are consistent with Archimedes’ mission and values as well as organizational and professional ethical requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What our team expects from you?

• Completion of a Juris Doctorate, LLM, or equivalent degree from an ABA accredited Law school required. Additional Business or pharmacy degree preferred.
• License to practice law in at least one US state required. License to practice law in Wisconsin is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience working in legal required.
• Direct experience within Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or health insurance industry required.
• Experience using software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
• The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
