Overview

Our government partner is seeking an ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR with strong accounting knowledge. In Office. Salary: $97k.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage key accounting functions including receivables, payables, property accounting, special assessments, and general ledger.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff; conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
  • Assist in financial system operations, integrations, and upgrades across departments.
  • Coordinate annual assessment billing and collections in partnership with local agencies.
  • Support bond issuance, compliance reporting, and post-issuance requirements.
  • Prepare audit materials and ensure timely completion of financial reports.
  • Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of supervisory and professional accounting experience in Florida Government.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA preferred.
  • CPA or CGFO preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of governmental or fund accounting preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work within a nuanced environment.
