Job description

Busy Mechanical HVAC Construction Company looking for motivated, responsible, and energized Assistant Field Technician to join our team.

Salary: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Job Hours: Monday to Friday 8 hrs Per Day, 30 min Lunch, Hours Variable based on Project Needs, Must be able to do Overtime when necessary.

Ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of Mechanical HVAC systems, excellent communication & organization skills, strong willingness to learn, follow instructions, be a team player and have a "Can-Do" and "Get-It-Done" attitude. As many of our projects are with the NYC public schools (where we only have access after school is out) candidate must also be flexible on work hours and overtime as needed.

Job will require travel to multiple jobsites throughout the NYC area so it will be best if the candidate have clean valid driver’s license and a car or reliable method of transportation to various jobsites. As our projects are mostly public construction jobsites, candidate will also need to have at least Site Safety Training SST 40 Worker card and OSHA 30 issued within the last 5 years.

Qualifications

• Must have SST 40 Worker card and willing to acquire SST 62 Supervisor card
• Must be willing to work various hours as jobsite requires
• Must have basic Mechanical HVAC background / MEP trade experience & knowledge
• Must have basic construction experience & knowledge
• Must be reliable and responsible
• Must have a "Can Do" and "Get the Job Done" attitude!
• Must be comfortable driving large cargo vans / sprinters when needed
• Must be comfortable driving in NYC, all 5 boroughs, and go to multiple jobsite locations
• Must be able to follow directions and work as a member of a team
• Must be able to move up to 60 lbs on a regular basis
• Must be diligent about cleaning and maintaining the vehicles
• Must be comfortable moving, loading, and off loading construction materials, equipment, tools, etc...
• May be exposed to extreme temperature changes of 40 degrees or less for extended periods of time and noise

Previous experience with public construction jobsites is A PLUS!
