Job summary

Ruppert Landscape seeks an Assistant Field Manager to support field operations across contract maintenance and snow removal projects. You will assist the Field Manager in labor and material planning, watch over budgets, and help cultivate a skilled crew through coaching and training.

Ideal candidates have leadership experience, a background in commercial landscape maintenance, and a valid driver’s license. The role emphasizes safety, customer satisfaction, and collaboration with other field

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.
• Develop understanding of budgets, monitor hours and costs, and communicate budget hours to crewmembers.
• Inspect work quality and address issues with customers at day’s end.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in good working order.
• Develop people reporting to the Field Manager and lead training initiatives.

Job description

The Assistant Field Manageris responsible forassistingthe Field Manager in managing labor and material in the field to complete assigned contract maintenance and snow removal projects. In addition,assistantfield managers must develop the people that report to them. Success in this position isindicatedby jobs completed in the budgeted hours, and low negative turnover of assistants and crew members. This position must cooperate with other landscape management field managers and enhancement field managers to see that the overall goals of the branch are met.

Responsibilities

• Develop a clear understanding of the philosophies by which the companyoperates, the short-and long-term goals of the branch,and the financial position of the branch.

• Get to knowtheirpeople in an effort to help them develop within the company.

• Be an active part of our training process by attending or conducting certification training sessions on a regular basis.

• Plan,scheduleand supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.

• Develop a clear understanding of the hourly and cost budgets for each of your jobs. Monitor by reviewing job hours, reports,and job costs regularly andactingas needed. Communicate budget hours tocrewmembers.

• Monitor quality of work and be proactive in bringing issues to the customer’s attention by inspecting the job at the end of each day.

• Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working order.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skill and abilityto manageothers at other levels.

• Demonstratedskilland abilityto workwith service customers.

• At least one yearofexperience doing contract maintenance work in a commercial setting.

• Two or four-year related degrees and two years of industry experience. Additional industry experience or industry certifications can substitute for a non-related degree, a two-year degree, or no degree.

• Working knowledge of vehicles and equipment used in landscape construction

• Validdriver’slicense with a clean record over the last three years.
