Job summary

District Wide is seeking an Assistant Elementary Girls Basketball League Director to support coaching, scheduling, and program operations for the elementary girls basketball program. The role reports to the Head Coach/Athletic Director and focuses on developing skills, discipline, and sportsmanship among participants.

The position is part-time with compensation and seasonal duration to be set by the Board. Immediate starting date follows selection and background checks as required by district

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the task listed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coaching individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Assists in planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in season.
• Works closely with the coach in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
• Assists in maintaining necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paper work.
• Assists in overseeing the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times those students are present.
• Assists in establishing performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in the sport.
• Assists in enforcing discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and assists in establishing and overseeing penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Assures that all students are given an equal opportunity to participate.
