Job summary

Skanska is seeking an Assistant EHS Manager to integrate environmental health and safety practices into project operations. The role is project-based with daily interaction with EH&S staff, superintendents, project managers, and regional EHS leadership.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent, plus several years of safety experience and strong communication skills; NFPA certification is preferred.

The Assistant Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the integration of environmental health & safety services into the business practices and compliance with regulatory requirements on their assigned Project. The Assistant EHS manager shall be project based. The Assistant EHS manager oversees responsibilities of their assigned Project as related to environmental health & safety services and has direct interaction with EH&S Staff, Superintendents, Project Manager, Project Executive and Area / Regional EHS Director. Must have a NFPA certification.

Assistant EHS Manager Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent or plus 5 years prior relevant experience
• Strong written communication skills
• Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• 3+ years of experience in a role assigned to the identification of safety hazards and recommending appropriate controls
• 3+ years of experience in a safety role that required communication with employees at all levels in a construction environment
