Job summary

University of Illinois Chicago Extended Campus is seeking an Assistant Director to lead program development, enrollment growth, and high‑touch student support for online degree and non‑degree offerings that operate on a full cost recovery basis.

You will be involved in planning, data analysis, curriculum collaboration with college partners, and ensuring timely graduation, retention, and strong customer service.

UIC is seeking a Program Student Advisor (Assistant Director) to join our UIC Extended Campus department. This position is involved in all aspects of program development and delivery for UIC Extended Campus's portfolio of fully online market-driven degree and other non-degree offerings that operate on a full cost recovery basis and depend upon a full complement of "high touch" support services to ensure that students complete their degree programs in a timely manner. Responsible for program planning and development, enrollment growth, data analysis and student retention.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Student Advising and Retention
  • Act as the primary advocate and liaison for UIC EC’s students supporting them in all areas of their university experience and help ensure their academic success and timely graduation with emphasis on retention, customer service, and student advisement.
  • Create regular student communications and manage all correspondence including communication about program requirements, deadlines, registration, graduation, etc.
Planning and New Program Development
  • Serve as primary program contact for academic unit partners. Work closely with these partners in all phases of program planning and delivery. Identify new courses/ workshops and educational events.
  • Work with EC staff and college partners to ensure program financial viability; assist in the identification of annual program goals and strategies to accomplish those goals.
  • Work with Associate Directors to conduct market research and develop business plans for new programs in collaboration with EC/ OVCI staff and other stakeholders.
Program Evaluation/Data Analysis
  • Evaluate effectiveness of individual courses and overall programs. Make recommendations for improvements, based on industry trends and/or data analytics, and coordinate with college partners on course and curricula revision.
  • Develop course schedules consistent with approved courses, course sequencing, and credit hours as determined by college partners.
  • Review and revise catalog information, EC websites and other program collateral.
  • Represent UIC Extended Campus on University, campus, and departmental committees/teams, as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project management experience in implementing and delivering educational programs
  • Familiar with online learning and related marketing development, as well as program planning, development and budgets within continuing education.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills to confront challenges and address difficult, complex issues with innovative solutions and
    proven results.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop/implement strategies that achieve organizational short and long-term objectives and goals.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.

Illinois Residency is required within 180 days of employment.
