Job summary

Clayco is seeking an Assistant Director of Procurement & Purchase Order Operations to oversee PO processes for Clayco subsidiaries, leveraging experience in construction procurement, contracts, and negotiation.

You will lead review and negotiation of contracts, assist with claims and disputes, and support contract compliance in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in purchasing and the construction industry.
• Familiarity with construction and/or design industry.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, procurement contracts and subcontracts.
• Knowledge of process design is a plus.
• Knowledge of AIA software and contract forms is a plus.
• Motivated, proactive, hardworking, team player.
• Foreign language competency a plus: Mandarin.
• Administrative experience.

The Role We Want You For

Assistant Director of Procurement & Purchase Order Operations for Clayco subsidiaries,1 having experience and knowledge of construction, equipment and material procurement, purchase order processes and general procurement related contract matters, including negotiation of purchase order terms and conditions, assistance with resolution of procurement related claims and disputes, and related matters.

Professional aptitude and ability to assist with all matters related to purchase order and procurement matters. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player with procurement experience, proactive, a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, exceptional problem-solving skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.

The Specifics of the Role

• Reviewing, negotiating and advising business teams on purchase orders and related contracts, including:
  
  
  
  • material supplier contracts warranties, terms and conditions
  
  
  • vendor and service contracts warranties, terms and conditions
  
  
  • Required flow down of obligations under related prime contracts and/or subcontracts
  
  
  • credit application terms and conditions
  
  
  • confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
  
  
  • review bonds
  
  
  
  


• Assisting with any purchase order related claims, meet with project teams and assist with drafting and issuance of notices and related claims investigations; assisting with processing and resolution of disputes, mediations, and / or litigation, including collecting documents, organizing team response to such matters and reviewing and responding to third party subpoena’s and discovery requests.


• Assisting with contract compliance related matters as needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 Years experience in purchasing and the construction industry or related field
