The Department of History at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month Lecturer position with the working title Assistant Director/Assistant Instructional Professor in the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program (SPOHP). The role combines teaching, leadership, and public humanities engagement on campus.

Responsibilities include a 2-2 course load, oversight of SPOHP internships, and leading oral history workshops, public programs, and grant projects in collaboration

Qualifications

PhD in History or closely related field is required.
Experience teaching, training, or mentoring at undergraduate/graduate levels.
Experience conducting, managing, or supporting oral history projects.

Responsibilities

Teach a 2-2 course load including oral history, public history, and U.S. history topics.
Oversee SPOHP internship program—recruitment, training, mentorship, supervision.
Develop and lead oral history workshops for students and the public; coordinate programs and outreach.
Lead grant- or contract-funded projects and collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners.
