Job summary

Marksman Security is seeking an Assistant Director of Security (Non-Exempt) to oversee morning and midday security operations at a Class A building. Ensure all posts are staffed, officers perform to standard, and tenants, visitors, and property assets remain safe and secure.

The role involves leading by example, providing hands-on supervision, responding to incidents, and delivering excellent customer service while coordinating coverage across shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years old with a GED or high school diploma (or equivalent).
• 2–3 years security experience, preferably in Class A or commercial real estate.
• Previous supervisory or lead officer experience.
• CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire.
• Workplace violence training or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire.
• Active shooter training or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Background/fingerprint check and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Security (Non-Exempt) oversees morning and midday shift security operations our Class A building. This role ensures all posts are staffed, officers perform to standard, and tenants, visitors, and property assets remain safe and secure. The ADOS leads by example, providing hands‑on support while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all security personnel assigned to their shift (ADOS schedule will be Tuesday - Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM AND Saturday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM).
• Ensure all posts are properly staffed; coordinate coverage for call‑offs and emergencies.
• Conduct routine patrols and site inspections to verify officer performance and property security.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all evening shift security operations.
  

Personnel Leadership

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and guidance to security officers.
• Ensure officers adhere to post orders, uniform standards, and company policies.
• Address performance issues and document disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Assist in training and onboarding new officers.
  

Client, Tenant & Visitor Engagement

• Maintain a visible and professional presence throughout all assigned properties.
• Respond to tenant concerns, service requests, and security‑related issues promptly.
• Ensure officers provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors.
  

Incident Response & Reporting

• Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms and disturbances.
• Ensure all incidents are properly documented in detailed, accurate reports.
• Notify management and elevate issues as required.
• Assist with investigations and follow‑up actions.
  

Administrative Duties

• Complete daily activity reports, shift summaries, and incident documentation.
• Assist with timekeeping verification and shift scheduling support.
• Monitor overtime usage and report staffing needs.
• Safety & Compliance
• Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures (fire, evacuation, medical, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and property standards.
• Identify and report security risks, hazards, or maintenance concerns
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age or older.
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum 2–3 years of security experience, preferably in Class A or commercial real estate environments.
• Previous supervisory or lead officer experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities during a fast‑paced shift.
• Proficient in report writing and basic computer systems (incident reporting, access control, CCTV).
• Must be CPR/AED certified or able to obtain certification within 10 day of hire
• Must be Workplace violence trained or able to obtain within 10 day of hire
• Must be Active shooter trained or able to obtain within 10 day of hire
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background and fingerprint investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising multi‑building or campus‑style properties.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Military or law enforcement background (a plus).
