Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services to assist the Director in directing physical, occupational, and speech therapy to deliver high-quality rehab care. You will plan patient care, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with laws and Life Care standards.

The role requires active licensure in PT/OT/SLP, strong leadership, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes in a post-acute setting.

Qualifications

• Active license in physical, occupational, or speech therapy and meet the education requirements for that license type.
• Currently registered/licensed with the applicable State and maintain license in good standing.
• Supervisory experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred.
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; CPR must remain current.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill core competencies of licensed position with clinical oversight within rehab standards.
• Recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and supervise rehab staff.
• Direct the growth, development, and maintenance of rehab programs.
• Function as staff therapist as caseload requires.
• Maintain appropriate staffing patterns as clinically indicated.
• Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately.
• Assume the duties of the DOR in his or her absence.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable attendance and good judgment.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services assists the Director of Rehabilitation Services (DOR) in directing the three rehab departments of physical, occupational, and speech therapy to ensure the highest quality rehab services in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

• Active license in physical (BSPT, MSPT, DPT, or PTA), occupational (BSOT, MSOT, COTA), or speech (MA, MS, CCC SLP, or CFY SLP) therapy and meet the educational requirements as defined in the job description for that license type
• Currently registered/licensed with applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
• Supervisory experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.

Specific Job Requirements

• Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for patient needs

• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
