Qualifications

Assistant Director of Rehab- Sunset Villa Post Acute (Healthcare)

General Purpose: The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation (ADOR) works under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) or Rehab Coordinator (RC) to support the clinical and operational functions of the rehabilitation department in an assigned facility.

Essential Duties
  • Support the DOR/RC in supporting therapy personnel, including licensed therapists, assistants, aides, and students.
  • Assist with daily staff scheduling and caseload management to meet facility needs.
  • Provide direct patient care and participate in caseload activities only as allowed under the individuals' professional license and the specific State Practice Act. Collaborate with the DOR/RC to balance administrative duties with any clinical responsibilities permitted by state regulations.
  • Monitor therapy services to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, reimbursement guidelines, and company policies.
  • Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Participate in denials management and assist with coordinating appeals responses.
  • Assist in implementing, monitoring and refining therapy programs and initiatives.
  • Support staff orientation, ongoing training and in service education.
  • Provide education to staff related to safety, quality, and best practices.
  • Provide input and observations to the DOR/RC to support staff performance evaluations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with facility teams and referral sources.
  • Attend team meetings, interdisciplinary meetings and PACS meetings as needed.
  • Ensure billing and therapy documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with PACS standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, staff, and company information.
  • Identify personal development needs and participate in continuing education.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional image of the rehabilitation department and support the company's mission.
  • *** These duties are dependent on the individual's licensure and must comply with all applicable State Regulations and Practice Acts.
Supervisory Requirements

Supervises PT assistants (PTA), aides, and students.

Qualification
Education and/or Experience

Active professional license in Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech Language Pathology required for the state in which you are working.

  • Experience in rehabilitation services within long-term care or similar settings.
  • Proficiency in current EMRs (Point Click Care and Net Health).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Language Skills

Ability to read technical procedures. Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers and families.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state. Employee must meet continuing education requirements per state practices. Must maintain a license in good standing at all time with the state board. Determine additional certification as appropriate per facility. CPR certification, if required by licensure.

Physical Demands

The essential functions of this position require the ability to stand and walk frequently and sit occasionally, as well as occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to provide resident care and operate equipment. The position requires the ability to reach, push, pull, lift, and manipulate objects and equipment, with exertion that may occasionally exceed 100 pounds, frequently exceed 50 pounds, or constantly exceed 20 pounds to safely move residents or equipment. Effective communication, including talking and hearing, is required to interact with residents, families, and the healthcare team. The ability to perceive and respond to environmental cues, including tactile, auditory, and visual information, is essential for safe and effective resident care. Other essential functions include assisting, supporting, and transporting residents in accordance with safe resident handling practices.
