Job Description:

The Graduate School at the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks a personable, culturally aware, student-focused professional with experience in recruitment and Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM). The Assistant Director of Recruitment Operations will contribute to the recruitment and marketing efforts for the Graduate School by focusing on utilizing our CRM, overseeing student groups involved in recruitment, and actively recruiting in an assigned territory.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. CRM Management for Recruitment and Marketing:
    • Utilize Slate to set up mailings for recruitment events and communication streams for all applicants and graduate programs.
    • Pull data from Slate to inform recruitment strategies.
    • Use Slate for texting campaigns—setting them up, monitoring effectiveness, responses, and liaising with respondents.
    • Implement strategies in Slate to enhance recruitment and marketing.
    • Set up recruitment forms, events, and portals for registrations.
    • Continuously seek ways to improve processes and use Slate more effectively for recruitment and marketing.
  2. Travel and Data Analysis:
    • Travel to graduate recruitment events (fairs, presentations, etc.) within New York State and surrounding areas.
    • Prepare for events and follow up with students post-event.
  3. Supervision of Student Groups:
    • Launch and oversee the Graduate Scholar Ambassador program, involving current students traveling to their alma maters to present research and recruit prospective students.
    • Oversee application, interview, payment processes, and input of leads into Slate with follow-up.
  4. Other duties as assigned.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
  • Reports to the Director of Graduate Recruitment and Marketing
  • Supervises: None (may supervise employees as assigned)
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with Slate CRM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with CRMs such as Slate, Salesforce, Ellucian, etc.
  • Experience in recruitment or sales
  • Professional and ethical representation at events
  • Ability to organize visits, fairs, and recruitment activities, both virtually and in-person
  • Data collection and evaluation skills for recruitment efforts
  • Innovative use of CRM to enhance recruitment and marketing
  • Support to Schools, Colleges, Departments on CRM use
  • Ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within a diverse campus community
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years experience supervising student groups
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, International Education, Communications, or related fields
  • Familiarity with Slate Technolutions
Working Environment:
  • Typical office setting
Additional Information:

Salary: $57,000 - $60,000, SL-3 rank
