GENERAL PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Pharmacy and Health/Wellness in managing Pharmacy operations. This person will manage the Pharmacy Call Center, coordinate and direct all Harmons Pharmacy MTM Services, Specialty Care Services, clinical services, vaccine programs, and spend time in each Pharmacy monitoring operations and mentoring Pharmacy associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Delivers excellent customer service while assisting customers at the Pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and over the phone
  • Coordinates and directs all Harmons Pharmacy MTM Services
  • Coordinates and directs all Harmons Pharmacy Specialty Care Services
  • Coordinates and directs all clinical and vaccine programs
  • Conducts quarterly visits to each pharmacy to ensure compliance with Harmons standards and provide coaching and mentorship to associates
  • Consults with other medical professionals regarding prescriptions
  • Counsels patients about their medications, possible interactions, and gives recommendations for over-the-counter medications
  • Provides information for internal and third party audits
  • Enters new prescriptions into the system
  • Submits refill requests to doctors over the phone and electronically
  • Submits insurance claims and inquiries about insurance problems
  • Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Sets a professional and positive example to others
  • Communicates effectively and works closely with the Director of Pharmacy and Health/Wellness
  • Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Teaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team
  • Provides honest, direct, and consistent feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assesses associate performance and influences promotion, discipline, etc.
  • Promptly addresses and resolves associates’ concerns and/or grievances
  • Writes the Pharmacy Call Center schedule to ensure coverage
  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Ensures the pharmacy is clean, sanitized, well-maintained and meets company standards of appearance
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

A 4-year college degree; graduate of an accredited pharmacy program; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must have current Utah Pharmacist License, Controlled Substance license, and CPR certification
  • Advanced knowledge of prescription drug information and interactions
  • Ability to administer immunizations using proper technique
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy and dispensing laws
  • Ability to multitask
  • Advanced knowledge in medical and pharmacy terminology, effects of prescription drugs, etc.
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
