Job summary

Majestic Care of Bloomington seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing, RN to join our team in leading the nursing department and delivering high-quality resident care.

The ADNS assists in managing the department of nursing and carries out duties delegated by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS). This role includes interviewing, orientation, performance reviews, care planning, rounds, QA, chart audits, infection control, and strong family communication.

Qualifications

• Must have current RN license by State Board of Nursing in state employed; active, valid, in good standing.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric population preferred.
• Must have at least three years nursing experience and one year supervisory experience.
• Must hold CPR or obtain within first 30 days; CPR active throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interviewing applicants and recommend hiring of staff and scheduling.
• Participate in orientation and in-service education training.
• Participate in performance reviews and personnel files; enforce personnel policies including disciplining and terminating care team members.
• Assist DNS in ensuring compliance with documentation from physicians and nursing personnel and ensuring that all regional policies/procedures are implemented.
• Assist with care planning process.
• Make rounds daily to direct the work of care team members and observe hazards and ensure services meet client needs.
• Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement and corrective follow-up actions.
• Follow up daily on each unit to ensure status changes are reported and recorded and services provided.
• Under DNS direction, complete chart audits and report results and progress, and suggest improvements to DNS.
• Ensure proper infection control techniques are utilized.
• Maintain effective communication with families, residents and community staff.

Position Overview:

Qualifications:

• Must hold an active CPR or ability to obtain within the first 30-days of hire; CPR must remain active and current throughout employment
