Qualifications

• New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field required.
• Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' management experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Effective management skills to organize direct and evaluate patient care off shift operations.
• Ability to apply and utilize balanced scorecard measures (customer service, financial, growth, improvement).
• Critical thinking and analytic skills for problem solving and clinical decision-making.
• Computer literacy.
• ANCC Certification in Nursing Administration or Advanced Administration preferred.

• Identification of actual and potential high-risk situations and quality issues with appropriate intervention as needed including resolution, recommendation, referral, escalation and reporting.

The Assistant Director of Nursing actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.
The Assistant Director of Nursing participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The Assistant Director of Nursing demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.The position is responsible for all administrative issues and the coordination of fiscal, human, and other resources needed to provide patient care services within the medical center.
