Job summary

Buena Vida Nursing and Rehabilitation Odessa is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to elevate resident care and nursing leadership in our Odessa facility.

You will lead staffing, regulatory compliance, and care-planning efforts, working closely with physicians and nursing teams to maintain high-quality, restorative care for residents while managing budgets and resources on-site.

Qualifications

• Licensed nurse in good standing with the State Board.
• Proven leadership/management experience.
• Background in geriatric or long-term care nursing.
• Restorative care philosophy with strong assessment and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Support staffing needs and assist floor staffing when needed.
• Oversee resident care: MDS, care planning, PI, infection control.
• Manage nursing staff: hire/train/evaluate/assign.
• Ensure accurate documentation of resident records.
• Develop individualized care plans with physicians and teams.
• Ensure timely access to equipment, supplies, and resources.
• Uphold infection control measures and assessments.

Your Impact as an Assistant Director of Nursing

In this role, you will:

• - Support Staffing Needs : Step in to assist floor staffing when needed
• - Oversee Resident Care : Contribute to MDS, care planning, Performance Improvement, and Infection Control programs
• - Manage Nursing Staff : Hire, train, evaluate, assign, and delegate nursing duties based on census and budget needs
• - Ensure Accurate Documentation : Review and maintain up-to-date and accurate resident records
• - Develop Care Plans : Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and consultants to design individualized care plans
• - Support Staff Resources : Ensure timely access to equipment, supplies, and other care resources
• - Uphold Infection Control : Conduct assessments and implement effective infection control measures
