The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life is seeking an Assistant Director for Health, Safety, & Event Planning to advise and lead health and safety initiatives, including risk prevention efforts, event planning and monitoring, and policy compliance. The purpose of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Penn State is to support the mission and goals of the university, strengthen scholarship and character, promote brotherhood, sisterhood, and siblinghood, develop leadership, engage State College through community service and philanthropic efforts, and affirm personal and organizational responsibility. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director for Health, Safety, & Event Planning, this position will support chapter leaders, advisors, and local house corporation personnel within a fraternity and sorority community of approximately 70 chapters and 4 distinct councils.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and 3+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. A willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required, including as part of the shared, rotating schedule for on-site event assessment, approximately one or two weeks a month.
