The University of Chicago Booth School of Business is seeking an Assistant Director to support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of center programs such as the Healthcare Speaker Series, Healthcare Fellowship Program, and alumni events.
The role partners with multiple departments, sustains stakeholder connections, and advances the Tolan Center’s priorities in a hybrid Hyde Park setting with occasional travel.

The Assistant Director supports the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of center programs and events, including but not limited to the Healthcare Speaker Series, Booth Healthcare Fellowship Program, Healthcare Scholar-in-Residence, Healthcare Research Brown Bags, and alumni events. In this role, the Assistant Director partners with other departments, supports cross-campus collaborations, sustains alumni and external stakeholder connections, and advances the Tolan Center’s strategic priorities. In addition to day-to-day management of a portfolio of programs, as a member of a small, high-impact team, the Assistant Director will provide logistical support as needed for other center initiatives. This is a hybrid position, based on the Hyde Park campus with occasional travel to the Gleacher Center and off-campus events. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment authorization.
Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Background in program or project management, events, and/or business administration. Advising or mentoring students and managing student-facing programs. Demonstrated experience and interest in healthcare.
Technical Skills or Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Learn and gain comfort with new software and AI-enabled workflows.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Highly motivated, self-starter and a commitment to professional growth. Resourcefulness, creativity and exceptional problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work independently. Work with frequent interruptions and successfully manage concurrent projects and deadlines. Demonstrated organizational, time management, and project coordination skills with keen attention to detail and execute programming efficiently and effectively. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty, and alumni contacts; easily establish rapport and cultivate relationships with individuals both inside and outside of the organization.
This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office. Flexibility to travel locally and staff morning/evening/weekend events.
Pay Range: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 The included pay rate or range represents the University’s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting.
