Job summary

Purdue University Northwest is seeking an Assistant Director for First-Generation Student Success to lead and coordinate programs that support retention and success of first-gen students. You will oversee the First-Gen Student Success Center, supervise student staff, monitor engagement, and drive data-informed improvements.

Responsibilities include holistic advising, development of mentoring programs, collaboration with campus partners, and reporting on outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of two years of professional or graduate-level experience in higher education or student success.

Responsibilities

• Center operations and supervision of student staff.
• Develop and implement retention programs and initiatives.
• Provide holistic advising, coaching, and mentoring to first‑generation students.
• Collect, track, and report student success data for program evaluation.
• Collaborate with campus departments to support first-generation students.
