Job summary

Yellow Brick Road seeks an Assistant Director to help run a nurturing school environment. You will partner with the Director and leadership team to uphold the mission, manage daily operations, and support growth across the community.

The role requires 2–4 years in childcare leadership, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong skills in leadership, communication, and organization. Travel and occasional classroom support may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field.
• 2–4 years of experience in childcare management, early education, or leadership support.
• Knowledge of childcare regulations, licensing standards, and best practices in early education.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM systems or parent communication apps a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team aligned with the company’s mission and values.
• Assist with staff meetings, trainings, and performance check-ins to support staff success.
• Maintain a positive, professional work culture with strong communication and teamwork.
• Provide coaching on compliance, classroom quality, and professional growth.
• Collaborate with marketing, enrollment, HR, finance, and other departments for policy implementation.
• Support classrooms to ensure compliance with state and company standards (50% of time).
• Conduct classroom observations and assist with curriculum implementation.
• Review and maintain school policies, procedures, and documentation for quality and regulatory standards.
• Assist in licensing inspections and internal audits.
• Build relationships with families through clear communication and excellent service.
• Engage families via intake meetings, events, and parent platforms.
• Coordinate community partnerships with local organizations and schools.
