Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Inc. in Brookings, SD, is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant Director to support daily childcare operations and licensing compliance.

You will coordinate staff schedules, oversee timekeeping, and assist in supervising employees to provide a safe, enriching learning environment for children. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, supporting family enrollment, and ensuring adherence to policies while working closely with the Center

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Experience in childcare administration, supervision, or program management preferred.
• Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in day-to-day management of the childcare program.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and policies.
• Provide leadership and support to teaching staff to promote high-quality childcare.
• Act as Director in the Director's absence as assigned.
• Maintain accurate and confidential files for children, families, and staff.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure classroom coverage and ratios.
• Oversee timekeeping, attendance, and payroll-related records.
• Recruit, onboarding, and training of new staff; provide coaching and feedback.
• Assist families with enrollment and program information.
