Job summary

Penn State University’s Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life seeks an Assistant Director for Community Development & Belonging to advise and lead chapter and council development, and to advance belonging initiatives across a community of roughly 70 chapters and four councils.

The role offers a flexible arrangement combining remote and on-campus work, with occasional night/weekend hours. Reporting to the Associate Director, you’ll coach chapters and collaborate across university partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise and develop governing councils, attend meetings and support governance.
• Coach chapters across all four councils with regular meetings with leaders.
• Collaborate with University departments to support community development programs.
• Provide guidance on recognition and standards programs.
• Review chapter recruitment and membership plans.
• Coordinate advisor roundtables and liaise with stakeholders.
• Hire and supervise graduate or undergraduate student assistants.
• Assist in developing and facilitating governance educational programs.
