Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire seeks an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to lead housekeeping operations for on-campus housing serving approximately 6,400 students across 40 buildings. You will supervise six professional leads, set policies, manage a multi-million dollar budget, and drive recruitment, retention, and training programs to ensure consistent cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of housekeeping management experience.
• Knowledge of safety/ OSHA standards.
• Experience with inventory control.
• Purchasing and procurement experience is necessary.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct weekly supervision and development for 6 professional staff.
• Lead project teams and oversee additional staff in assigned areas.
• Oversee 50–75 professional and student staff and conduct regular staff meetings.
• Develop data driven housekeeping practices and respond to feedback.
• Recruit, train, support, and retain team leads and building service workers.
• Maintain standards for cleanliness in residence halls and implement QA inspections.
• Develop and manage equipment, inventory control, repairs, and replacement planning.
• Collaborate with campus partners to align housekeeping with campus mission and values.
• Participate in on-call rotation for facilities emergencies and crisis management.
