Job summary

University of Washington is seeking an Assistant Director to lead the Campus Energy & Resource Conservation division within UW Facilities. The role drives compliance with CBPS, energy conservation mandates and safety regulations across Seattle’s 200+ buildings and 700 acres serving 80,000 daily users.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent directs strategic planning, budget development and cross-campus coordination to deliver reliable, efficient operations and major capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related degree program.
• Eight+ years of management or supervisory experience in capital management, capital development and/or energy/resource management.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with safety regulations and building codes.
• Ability to manage diverse teams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning and management for the Campus Energy & Resource Conservation division.
• Oversee the annual operations budget and capital budgets; forecast and control costs.
• Ensure safe, compliant, reliable 24/7 operations for UW facilities.
• Provide leadership for division staff, including performance feedback and coaching.
• Lead organizational engagement and cross-unit coordination within UW Facilities.
• Develop directives to comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
