Job summary

The NYC Health Department seeks an Accountant II to supervise budget analysts, oversee grant lifecycles, and liaise with federal, state, and private funders. Based in the Bureau of Budget Administration, you will assist in preparing financial plans and respond to requests from senior management.

The ideal candidate has a baccalaureate degree with accounting credits or a NY CPA license, plus strong Excel and budget management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree with required accounting credits or a CPA license.
• Strong Excel, budgeting, and analytical skills.
• Public sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervising budget analysts in monitoring PS and OTPS CTL/State and Grant Budget.
• Overseeing grants lifecycle: application, implementation, and closeout.
• Liaising between programs and federal/state/private funding sources.
• Assisting in financial planning, review, and implementation.
• Handling ad hoc analyses for senior management and external inquiries.
