Live Well Healthcare Solutions is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to support the Dietary Manager in overseeing daily food-service operations in a post-acute care setting.

You will lead the dietary team, ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with facility staff, physicians, and vendors.

This role emphasizes staff development, scheduling, and adherence to HACCP guidelines to deliver nutritious, well-presented meals to residents.

Formación

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
• Experience in healthcare food service or supervision is highly desired.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Intermediate computer skills and organizational abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Assist dietary manager in supervising daily food-service operations.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; provide daily guidance to ensure a positive work environment.
• Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
• Collaborate with facility staff, physicians, consultants, and vendors to meet client expectations.
• Maintain department records regarding personnel, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Inspect meals to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Ensure food is prepared according to standardized recipes and therapeutic diet requirements.
• Manage preparation and service of special nourishments and supplemental feedings.
• Oversee safe receiving, storage, and preparation of food per HACCP guidelines.
• Update dietary records and assist in care planning with RD.
• Review nutritional concerns to improve client health and eating function.

Assistant Dietary Manager Position Summary:

The Assistant Dietary Manager supports the Dietary Manager in overseeing daily food-service operations. You will ensure the department maintains standards of excellence in food quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while providing direct leadership to the dietary team.

Responsibilities:

• Operations & Leadership:

  • Team Support: Assist in recruiting, training, coaching, and evaluating staff; provide daily guidance to ensure a positive work environment.

  • Scheduling: Help develop and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.

  • Collaboration: Work cooperatively with facility staff, physicians, consultants, and vendors to meet client expectations.

  • Compliance: Maintain department records regarding personnel, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.

• Food Service Management:

  • Quality Control: Inspect meals to ensure they meet standards for appearance, palatability, temperature, and serving times.

  • Production Oversight: Ensure food is prepared according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and therapeutic diet requirements.

  • Clinical Support: Manage the preparation and service of special nourishments and supplemental feedings.

• Food Safety & Sanitation:

  • Safety Standards: Oversee the safe receiving, storage, and preparation of food using HACCP Guidelines.

  • Sanitation: Ensure staff follow proper sanitation practices and maintain equipment according to cleaning schedules.

• Nutrition & Clinical Documentation:

  • Dietary Records: Process new diet orders and changes, keeping diet cards and residents' nutritional profiles updated.

  • Care Planning: Assist the Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian (RD) in developing dietary plans and completing assigned MDS sections.

  • Assessment: Review and document nutritional concerns to improve client health and eating function.

General Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong ability to motivate, coach, and supervise front-line personnel.

• Intermediate computer skills and organizational abilities.

• Effective written and oral communication skills.

• Familiarity with legislation and regulations influencing healthcare food-service standards.

Education & Requirements:

• High School Diploma

• Post-Secondary Undergraduate Education preferred, but not required.

• Prior experience in healthcare food service or a supervisory role is highly desired.
