Job summary

City of Baltimore seeks an Assistant Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services to lead strategic health and social services efforts across BCHD, MOHS, MOCFS, MOAAA, and BCMOOR with a focus on youth initiatives. The role reports to the Deputy Mayor and drives data-informed improvements in service delivery.

The incumbent will coordinate across agencies, engage stakeholders, and support policy leadership for youth programs and emergency response efforts. Strong collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in education, public policy, social work, law, government, or another related field.
• Familiarity with city/state government operations.
• Experience working in or with Baltimore City Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with City agency leadership to support the design, implementation, and alignment of health and social service programs including the Mayor’s Summer Youth Engagement Strategy.
• Coordinate efforts across agencies to ensure cohesive and comprehensive service delivery and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation especially as it relates to Baltimore City Youth.
• Support the Deputy Mayor in identifying emerging issues and developing data-informed strategies that drive systemic improvements in health and human services for Baltimore City especially as it relates to Youth.
• Monitor agency performance and key initiatives, providing timely analysis and recommendations to improve impact and effectiveness.
